152. Gemini Filii


          


Amúlius,
ut regnum firmíssime possidéret,
Numitóris fílium
per insídias interémit
et
fíliam fratris, Rheam Sílviam,
Vestálem vírginem fecit.
Nam
his Vestae sacerdótibus
non licet
viro núbere.
Sed haec
a Marte
géminos fílios,
Rómulum et Remum,
péperit.
Hoc
cum Amúlius comperísset,
matrem in víncula coniécit,
púeros autem
in Tíberim ábiici iussit.
