Neptúnus, Iovis frater,
maris impérium sortítus est.
Illi
pro sceptro, tridens,
pro curru, ingens concha;
pro equis, hippocámpi,
sive equi maríni,
bípedes tantum,
postréma córporis parte
in píscium caudam desinénte:
pro satellítibus, Tritónes erant.
Uxor eius, Amphitríte;
fíliae Harpýae.
