28a. Leo Nemeae

In valle Némeae
leo ingens vivébat
et
pécora hominésque
quotídie interficiébat.
Eurýstheus, rex Tirýnthis,
Hérculem
ad se advocávit
eíque dixit,
"Curae tibi sit
hunc leónem
quam celérrime interfícere."
Statim
proficíscitur Hércules.
Clava sagittísque
frustra usus,
ímpetu facto,
leónem mánibus interfécit.
Tum
ad Eurýstheum revérsus est,
meortuum leónem
húmeris impósitum
ferens.
